An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in Nokia’s UK and Ireland local sales unit as Consumer Insight Manager.
The UK is a “must-win“ focus market for Nokia – it is large and lucrative with a significant global influence , but as a result it is also a ferociously competitive marketplace . The application of consumer insight
to identify and drive commercial and marketing opportunities is key to Nokia winning in this market. This is a pivotal role in the UK and Ireland team and will provide great experience working at the front-line of Nokia’s sales and marketing organisation.
To be the Consumer champion in the Nokia UK and Ireland local sales unit , driving consumer insights to the heart of all Nokia’s commercial and marketing activities , working in close collaboration with Marketing , Sales , Applications / Developer Experience and other local functions as needed.
To act as the voice of the Consumer in Nokia’s commercial dealings with trade customers (operators , retailers and distributors) , collaborating closely with sales and marketing colleagues in regularly engaging with key customer decision-makers to promote opportunities for Nokia based on key consumer/business insights.
The core content of the role is to manage a broad range of regular reporting/analytics and consumer insight project work covering : target audiences & consumer segmentation ; brand & campaign tracking ; portfolio research (products / OS / services / apps) ; consumer purchase journey/ driver insights ; propositions
research and usage/satisfaction reporting.
To maintain a very strong networking relationship with the global Nokia Consumer Insights team and other Nokia consumer insights professionals in various markets around the world . This is key to ensure the UK is included
as a key focus market in global research projects wherever possible and to ensure local ownership/interpretation of global research findings for relevance and actionability in the UK and Ireland.
To think and act with a “challenger” ethos. Without the spend/scale of its biggest competitors, Nokia needs to form innovative and creative consumer insights which help the company to continually push the boundaries in terms of new ways to address the market.
To support the Head of Planning & Insights where needed across the broad scope of the Planning & Insight team’s work in the UK and Ireland – commercial planning , marketing planning , market/competitor insights
and channel/ trade customer insights.
Note this is a fixed term contract for 6 months covering the incumbent job-holder’s maternity leave.
- Degree-educated, highly quantitative and analytical
- Essential to have significant consumer insights experience and ideally some mobile communications and/or technology industry experience
- A passion for the consumer and a demonstrable strong track record of applying consumer insights to identify and drive commercial opportunities
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills
- Strong team player with highly developed people management skills
- Ideally some broader analytical experience e.g. market, competitor or channel insights
